Price
The workshop fee is based on the ground school (four sessions of classroom instruction), two flights, ground time for a briefing with an instructor, and fuel surcharge. The total cost is likely to be approximately $642+HST for social members and slightly higher for non-members. Flights are charged for the time actually used, and so this price may vary, including being slightly higher. The price is based on each participant pairing up for the second flight, which is a small navigation exercise to the Arnprior airport, and splitting the cost of the flight. If a participant cannot pair with someone, for example, due to a restricted personal schedule, they would pay the full cost but also get individual flight instruction for the full time.
A $149 ($49 for RFC members) deposit is required no later than 23 September 2024 to hold your spot. This will be refunded if the course does not run as planned. Note that a minimum of 6 confirmed participants are required by 23 September for the course to run.
Redbird Flight Simulator Add-on Option
If you wish you can also arrange three instructional sessions in our certified Redbird Flight Simulator! You can receive training on how to complete the pre-start and run-up checklists, aircraft attitudes and movements, turns, climbs and descents, and many other skills! This is a great way to learn about aviation - with a pause button built in!
You will begin each sessions with a briefing from a qualified instructor, and then enter the simulator for approximately 45 minutes of training together. Each session costs $156.25+tax, with minor variability for actual length.
Registration
To register, please sign up here and provide the information as required. Once you are signed up, the person attending will be contacted for the deposit ($149, noted above, or $49 for RFC social members). The preferred method is to e-transfer to ap@rfc.ca, however, in-person payment is also possible.
Please note - you do not require a Google account to sign up on the form, only to save your progress, which is not required.
